How are you mate?  Good.

I’m glad you are home, I just rang the office by mistake. I notice your work number ends in 1981, is that when you were born? Come on, I’m not that old.

How long have you been Hashing? 1989, it was a Monday run. It was much later I joined LCHH, Peeking Ong brought me along.

So was your first time memorable? It was uneventful. It was Track 22  at Jurong East, way before they built the Heavy Vehicle Car Park, and the Greasy Spoon. The area was full of farmland., very nice.

That would have been very uneventful without the Greasy Spoon to test the stomach.

So, where did you get your Hash name? Pavarotti gave it to me at a Celebration Run, 600 or 800, at Clarke Quay. When you signed up you were meant to wear a wrist strap to show you paid but I didn’t wear mine.

Favourite Run Site – So many, but Lorong Lada Hitam has everything, great terrain, tracks, hills to run up, jungle. Something for all runners.

Favourite On On Site.  Red Lantern! My Car is on auto pilot to and from there,

And  dogs! Most memorable Hash Moment?  It was a Monday run, Mark Zag was the Hare. We had to cross 50 metres of mud on all fours, the mud was so soft that if we stood we would sink.

Least memorable Hash moment?  Again on a Monday, it was at Lorong Lada Hitam, we had sooo much beer and the GM said we can’t leave until we finish it. It was 4am before we finished!

What do you like most about the Hash? I enjoy the running, then the beer and letting your hair down, swearing and carrying on and not getting into trouble.

What do you like least about the Hash? Getting up the next morning and feeling sore. I’ve taken to wearing a knee pad which is really working.

Most admired Hasher ?(beside me) Ratnam, he is an ex Monday GM, he is 80+ and still running, and he really knows how to deal with people.

How would you improve the Hash?  . In the old days we seemed to party harder, more people stayed for the ON Ons and stayed late. That spirit has sort of gone, on ons are a bit softer, a lot of people don’t join in and support the Hares.

What would you be doing if you weren’t Hashing?  Working crazy in the office making more money.
