When did you first join the Hash? 

Slocum joined in1999 and Jackoff 1991 or earlier

How did you get your name?

Slocum: I arrived by cab at the run site (Swiss Club Road) at 7:00 &  was whinging to Bloodshit (who was, unbeknownst to me, the Mystery Whip) about the Singapore cab drivers who do not know not know their way around the Island.  Thus, SloCum-I was slow in coming to the hash.

Jack-Off:  Coo Chi Coo named me after I was the only one shouting “Off, Off” for a Harriett to remove her top for an award. Thus, “Jack – OFF”

And Coo Chi Coo wasn’t calling ‘Off, Off?’ That’s hard to believe!

When did you decide to start wearing the same shirts to Hash?

About the 2nd time we Hashed together, we just thought it would be a nice thing to do.

 Do you have a memorable moment: 

SloCum & Jack-Off :  The day we met – August 18, 2000 at the Red Lantern.  Introduced by Boodshit & Double Back.

What about your Favourite Run site?

SloCum: Mayfair Park

Jack-Off: Not particular, as long as it is jungle.

What do you like about the Hash?

SloCum:  getting some exercise, forgetting about work and visiting friends.

Jack-Off:  Meeting SloCum

You mean you don’t see him at home and have to go to Hash to meet up?

What do you dislike?  

SloCum & Jack-Off:  Politics

Best ON On? 

SloCum & Jack-Off::  Our Hash Wedding On On at the Red Lantern, complete with white linen table clothes, flower bouquets and wedding decorations (all provided by the owner of the Red Lantern)

Anyone you particularly admire on the Hash?

SloCum & Jack-Off:  The older hashers who still show up, still run or walk, still participate and still have a good sense of humor.

On the Hash you should………

 

SloCum:  Run, call “On”, relax, enjoy the company and have a couple of beers

Jack-Off:  Be friendly, welcome newcomers, have fun

Any food you would not eat?

SloCum:  I do not like oily food and anything that looks unhealthy.  I prefer healthy food at the On On’s

You must end up pretty hungry then, holding out for healthy food at the Hash!

Jack-Off:  I do not like herbal chicken or any other weird looking or smelling food.

Well, you don’t get much of that in Singapore, do you? What is your favourite run of all time?

SloCum:  The run on Sunset Ave where I first took notice of Jack-off..  Phoney Dick gave her a down down for having “stirrups” in her truck (actually handles)

Jack:off:  Dingleberry’s fare well run at Macritchie (2000) with only one check – a “T Check” half way around, I showed SloCum the rest of the way around the loop and our relationship came “out of the closet”

You are married?

SloCum & Jack-Off:  Yes, to each other

Children?

SloCum:  2 from a previous marriage – Baby Cum & Megan

Jack-Off:  SloCum & Django (our cat)

Could you improve the Hash?

SloCum: healthier food at the on on’s, less politics, fewer street runs

Jack-Off:  we can improve as long as the membership accepts new things & ideas

What changes have you noticed at the Hash over the years?

SloCum:  membership getting older, sworn bachelors getting married, some younger blood

Jack-Off:  the Hash Brew & the addition of bottled  wine, rather than wine in a box

Any words of wisdom to leave us with?

SloCum: Relax & enjoy, it is just a f**king a hash, not world politics

Jack-Off:  Always welcome new comers  - make them feel at home

Finally, do you follow Boo?

SloCum:  Sometimes it pays – he has rescued a few people

Jack-Off:  Always
